All you have to do is ask

I spent considerable time interviewing my mother in preparation for writing “Wish You Well,” and it was an enlightening time for me. Most of us assume we know all there is to know about our parents. However, if you take the time to ask questions and actually listen to the answers, you may find there is still much to learn about people so close to you.

After my parents were gone, I wished that I had asked more questions, and written thngs down. Now that they’re gone nearly 16 and 18 years, I find that even the things that I once knew are fading, or that I don’t remember the details like I thought that I always would. Interviewing your parent, now there’s a great idea, whether you’re writing a book or not!
